Michèle TIXIER-BOICHARD, PhD, DVM, (http://orcid.org/0000-0001-5944-7884). Director of

She has been working at INRAE (the French National Institute of Research for Agriculture, Food and
Environment) in animal genetics and genomics since 1985, mainly on chickens. Her personal interests
included: genetics of egg production traits, molecular characterisation of major genes and particularly
feather colour genes, molecular assessment of genetic diversity in chickens, characterisation and
conservation of local breeds. She published more than 150 papers in peer-reviewed journals and
supervised 13 PhD thesis. She is chairing the board of the French National Cryobank and coordinating
the National infrastructure of biological resource centres for agriculture research (agrobrc-rare.org), as
well as its branch for domestic animals, CRB-Anim. She is a partner of the EuroFAANG concept
development project (2023-2025) for an infrastructure on Genotype to Phenotype research. She
coordinated the H2020 IMAGE project for the Innovative management of animal genetic resources,
from 2016 to 2020, where a multi-species low-cost genotyping array was developed. She is a partner
of the PRIMA SCALA-MEDI project (2021-2025) for sustainable use of sheep and chicken genetic
resources in North-African countries, with a particular focus on developing breeding centers for
indigenous chickens.
She is a member of the World’s Poultry Science Association since 1989 and chaired Working Group 3
‘Breeding and Genetics’ of the European Federation of WPSA branches from 1994 to 2002. She was
an elected Vice-President of the European Federation from 1998 to 2006 and an elected VicePresident of the WPSA board from 2004 to 2016. She is the acting President of the World Poultry
Science Association since 2022.

Dr. Nasir Mukhtar has twenty-four years of experience in the industry, teaching, research, and
administration. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Pakistan, and
completed his post-doctorate at the Roslin Institute, University of Edinburgh, Scotland, UK. He served
as the Head of the Department of Poultry Science for thirteen years and was the Officer-In-Charge of
the Poultry Science Academy at PMAS Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Currently,
he is an Associate Professor of Animal Nutrition. He has supervised 6 Ph.D. and 12 M.Phil. students
and authored 6 books and 42 national and international peer-reviewed research articles. Dr. Mukhtar
has completed five unique research projects in collaboration with the industry and the international
community. He is a life member of the World’s Poultry Science Association (WPSA), a member of
the British Society of Animal Science (BSAS), an accredited member of the Pakistan Veterinary
Medical Council, a life member of the Zoological Society of Pakistan, a member of “Care thy Nature,”
a member of the Society of Development and Sustainability in Japan, a member of the American
Academy of Veterinary Nutrition (USA), and a member of the American Association for the
Advancement of Science (USA). He has organized eleven national and international conferences and
multiple training workshops with the industry. Moreover, he is the General Secretary of the WPSA
Pakistan branch and the Vice President of the Asian Pacific Federation of WPSA (Thailand). He is
also the Group Leader (Global Chair) of Small Scale Family Poultry Farming of WPSA. Dr. Mukhtar
has presented his dynamic views on poultry science and animal nutrition at national and international conferences. He is a member of the editorial board of the World’s Poultry Science Journal and Guest
Editor of special issue in Poultry Science

Prof. Dr. Amonrat Molee
She is serving as an Associate Professor at the School of Animal Technology and Innovation, Institute
of Agricultural Technology, Suranaree University of Technology. She completed her Ph.D. in Animal
Production from Khon Kaen University, Thailand, as well as her M.S. in Agriculture and B.Sc. in
Agriculture from the same institution.
Her areas of expertise include conventional and molecular animal breeding. She is currently working

Dr. E. Fallou Guèye, from Senegal, is an esteemed international technical expert at the Food and
Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations. With extensive experience in sustainable
poultry production and rural development, Dr. Guèye has made significant contributions to improving
small-scale family poultry farming systems across Africa and globally. His work emphasizes the
socio-economic importance of indigenous poultry breeds, particularly in enhancing food security and
livelihoods for rural communities.
In addition to his role at FAO, Dr. Guèye serves as the Vice President of the World Poultry Science
Association (WPSA) at the global level. He is actively involved in promoting poultry science and
technology, with a special focus on the role of family poultry farming in poverty alleviation and
sustainable agricultural development. Dr. Guèye's leadership within WPSA and his technical expertise
at FAO place him at the forefront of initiatives aimed at supporting vulnerable populations through
innovative and resilient poultry production systems.

Dr. Shahid Mehmood is currently working as Chairman, Department of Poultry Production,
UVAS, Lahore since 2021. He joined this Department in 2008 as Lecturer and promoted to
the rank of Assistant Professor in 2013 and Associate Professor in 2020. He has also field
experience of working with renowned poultry organizations like Big Bird and National group
in private sector before joining the academia.
His expertise are in the field of broiler production, Indigenous chicken rearing and poultry
waste management. He has worked on “Effect of different management strategies on growth
performance, biochemical profile and immune response of broilers” during his PhD research
work. Recently, he has successfully completed research projects in collaboration with
Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA) on Artificial Insemination in broiler breeder and Village
School Meal Program in Pattoki. Moreover, he was actively involved in 03 different research projects as Co-PI or member. Parallel to that he has also developed Compost technology that
converts poultry waste into efficient bio-fertilizer and played a pivotal role for the
establishment of Broiler house, Indigenous Chicken Genetic Resource Center, Model Ostrich
Farm and Hatchery Unit at UVAS, Ravi Campus, Pattoki.

Robyn Alders is a veterinarian and an Honorary Professor with the ANU Development Policy
Centre, ANU Institute for Climate, Energy and Disaster Solutions, Department of Pathobiology
and Population Sciences at the Royal Veterinary College in London and Veterinary Department
of Infectious Disease and Global Health, Tufts University. She is also a Senior Consulting Fellow
with the Chatham House Global Health Programme. For over 30 years, she has worked closely
with family and smallholder poultry farmers in sub-Saharan Africa, South and SE Asia, and
Oceania as a veterinarian, researcher, and colleague, with an emphasis on the development of
sustainable infectious poultry disease control in resource-limited areas in support of food and
nutrition security, income generation, wildlife conservation, and public health. Robyn’s research
and development interests include food and nutrition security/systems, One Health, gender
equity, inclusive policies, and science communication.
Robyn has published over 200 publications including theses, scientific journal articles, conference
proceedings, technical manuals, technical reports, development publications, extension material
and articles in general interest magazines.
In May 2002, Robyn was the recipient of the Kesteven Medal, awarded by the Australian
Veterinary Association and the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in recognition of
distinguished contributions to international veterinary science in the field of technical and
scientific assistance to developing countries. In January 2011, she was invested as an Officer of
the Order of Australia by the Governor General of Australia for distinguished service to
veterinary science as a researcher and educator, to the maintenance of food security in developing
countries through livestock management and disease control programs. In August 2014, she was
the Recipient of the Crawford Fund 2014 Medal for continued contributions to international
agricultural research and development. In February 2017, Robyn was the recipient of the
Inaugural Mitchell Global Humanitarian Award which recognises Australians and others
supported by Australian aid who have made an outstanding contribution to the cause of
international development.

Dr. Keat Fu graduated from the Universiti Putra Malaysia as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. Upon graduation, he entered the poultry industry, as a country technical manager for a major Malaysian Veterinary supply company. He moved to Aviagen as a technical manager for Asia in 2009. In 2013, Keat joined the Aviagen global veterinary team, responsible for veterinary support to clients across the Asian region. He received diplomate status from the American College of Poultry Veterinarians in 2016 and was made a Fellow of the Malaysian College of Veterinary Specialists in 2018. The same year he was also awarded a Master’s Degree from Konkuk University in Korea. In 2019, he was appointed by Aviagen as their Senior Poultry Veterinary Technical Specialist, for the Asian region. In addition to this responsibility, he is also an industrial fellow for Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK).

Jean Claude FOTSA, Cameroonian, was born on 1958 in Bamendou. He is an Agricultural Engineer and Zootechnician, holder of a DEA (INA PG of France), a PhD (AgroParisTech- France), a PhD (University of Dschang, Cameroon), and was a Researcher of Magisterial Rank (1985-2013). Since then, he has been Director of the Agricultural Research Station for Development in Mankon (Cameroon) from 2012 to 2013. During all these periods, he has evaluated and supervised more than forty engineering theses, Masters and doctoral theses in
animal genetics. He is the author and co-author of some forty scientific articles published in referenced Journals . From 2009 to 2024, he was Secretary General of the Cameroonian branch of the WPSA and concomitantly Editor-in-Chief of the Family Poultry Journal (FPJ), which has become, since 2019, the World Family Poultry Journal (WFPJ). Since 2022 until now, he has
been Rector of the Higher Institute of Technology for Sustainable Development in Foumbot, Republic of Cameroon.

ETHIOPIA Tadelle Dessie is a principal scientist at ILRI and adjunct professor in Animal breeding and genetics at the Bahir Dar University, Ethiopia. He has more than 30 years of experience in the field with a long track record of research on poultry and livestock breeding and genetics. As a project leader/PI of DAGRIS, ACGG, AsCGG, and TPGS led the design and implementation of the projects. He joined ILRI in 2004, and he is currently a Principal Scientist and a member of the Global Livestock Genetics (LiveGene) program at the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI). His publication and project management record demonstrates his ability to undertake, plan and manage multidisciplinary research in livestock genetics and breeding research and development. He is responsible for coordinating the design and implementation of project activities in collaboration with partners and project reporting. He supervised and co-supervised more than 30 Ph.D. students. In consultation with partners, the PL is responsible for researching and providing alternative approaches. He is also responsible for designing and developing several chicken breeds in Africa, leading the sourcing of tropically adapted chicken lines, and developing material transfer agreements between owners of the chicken lines and ILRI. All the project team members from different geographies report to him.
